Human development is the purpose of research and graduate study in Human Development. The course shows the view that man is a being active in their relations in different environments, like family, the work, school and community. The human being participates in the inter-relations in various places and can also influence the immediate context of environments in which is not active and this directly. The environments are immersed in the macro system, which corresponds to global standards ideologies, of beliefs, forms of government and cultures present in daily life.
The course has a teaching body formed by doctors, with experience in teaching, in academic advising and significant publications in the field. Teachers are involved in research projects with external funding support agencies.
OBJECTIVES
train researchers, generate knowledge from an interdisciplinary look and analyze the construction of individual identities, social and professional. Investigate and reflect on the training environments, its forms and their contexts and point contributions to human development. Encourage dialogue and exchange with graduate programs and with national and international research teams, that enfatizem Latin America.
ACTING
Professionals can follow an academic career, at universities or research institutes, in addition to acting as teachers in public educational institutions, private and third sector. Work on social policies allow the development of diagnostic and policy planning in the public and private sector.

- contexts, Social Practice and Human Development
The line focuses on research of immediate and distant environments and measures the contributions of training contexts of human development. With emphasis on the study of social practices, researchers analyze the creation of networks of relationships in which individuals share meanings. The program publishes every six months Human Sciences Journal.
- Human development, Identity and Training
The objective of this line is to research the influence of training in the construction of identities and social representations of the subject and its impacts.
Research groups
Each line of research leads to a working group, which gathers the students enrolled. Depending on the theme of ongoing projects, other groups may be formed for specific studies.
Dissertation
The rules to be followed for the preparation of the thesis are defined by the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies (PRPPG) UNITAU. Check the requirements on here.
Exchanges and extracurricular activities
The Human Development Master offers teaching internship as an optional activity, which allows students to have contact with the actions developed in Higher Education, in a supervised internship.
Researchers can also participate in extracurricular activities, as the show Postgraduate UNITAU, meetings of research groups, lectures and visits to other institutions.
– Epistemology and Methodology of Interdisciplinary Research

The course discusses fundamental epistemological issues in studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences. It discusses the concept of interdisciplinarity and the limitations imposed by disciplinary fragmentation. Shows the research design, discussing the construction of the interdisciplinary research object, the interference of the researcher and the construction of hypotheses. Finally, the main collection techniques are presented, coding and analysis of both qualitative data - based on interviews, focus groups and life stories –, and quantitative - based on questionnaires and public databases, using specific analysis software.

The course proposes a general discussion of the main theoretical lines that guide the program's research.. With social changes as a general context, policies, economic and cultural aspects of the last decades, discusses the evolution of social policies in Brazil in light of the crisis in the Welfare State and changes in the organization of work, the constitution of the family and the transformations of the training process. Analysis, then, social representations and identity constructions in different environments (family, job, school, community), their interrelationships and influences on human development. Finally, discusses the processes and practices through which subjects build and reconstruct knowledge in different educational contexts, in school and non-school spaces.

The Dean of Research and Graduate Studies (PRPPG) aims to encourage teaching and research activities carried out by professors and students at the University of Taubaté. PRPPG organizes and regulates teaching and research activities through the opinions of the General Commission for Research and Graduate Studies, composed of representatives of the Lato and Stricto Sensu. Prepares teaching and research plans, oversees the lato sensu and stricto sensu graduate courses, scientific journals and teacher training programs. Promotes the selection of staff and the composition of the examining boards and proposes the movement of graduate teaching staff. In addition, analyzes and approves the conduct of research with animal models, laboratory research and clinical research from the perspective and endorsement of the Human Research Ethics Committees and the Ethics Committee on the use of animals.
