Prof.. Drag. Rachel Duarte Abdala, permanent professor and currently general coordinator of the Master's Course in Human Development at the University of Taubaté, was invited, due to his research and university extension work, to participate in a round table on the topic related to heritage at an event promoted by the Municipality of Taubaté-SP.

The event is part of the Heritage Week program and was held on the day 17 of August, National Historical Heritage Day. The chosen location was Vila São Aleixo, recently restored heritage.

The round table was composed by Profa. Rachel Abdala, by Prof. André Bazzanella, head of the Heritage House of IPHAN-Institute of National Historical and Artistic Heritage in Vale do Paraíba and by architect Letícia Cursino, who works at the Municipal Planning Secretariat and is a member of the Taubaté Municipal Heritage Council, of which Profa. Rachel Abdala was once president.

The round table was mediated by the historiographer from Taubaté City Hall, Fabiana Pazzine Rubim, who works at the Taubaté Historical Museum.

The event was attended by students from History courses, Letters, Journalism and Architecture at the University of Taubaté and High School; teachers, like Prof. Dr. André Luiz da Silva, who coordinates together with Profa. Rachel Abdala, university extension project for Heritage Education in schools in the municipal education network of Taubaté.
