PPGDH is present at the 11th National Science Symposium, Technology and Society in Belém (PA)

The Postgraduate Master's Program in Human Development (PPGDH-UNITAU) was present at 111st National Science Symposium, Technology and Society, carried out between days 17 e 19 September 2025, and Federal University of Pará (UFPA), in Belém. The event, which brought as its central theme “What future are we building? Science, technology and the urgency of climate action”, was promoted for the first time in the North region of Brazil, consolidating the national scope of the symposium, now covering all regions of the country.

THE Professor André Luiz da Silva (University of Taubaté) and others teacher Elisa Maria Andrade Brisola (Unitau) acted as coordinators and teacher Rachel Duarte Abdala as a debater GT 24 – Technologies and Innovations: know, communities, artifacts and sustainability, carried out in partnership with professor Carlos Alberto Máximo Pimenta (Federal University of Itajubá), which brought together relevant debates on the role of science and technology in the face of contemporary socio-environmental challenges.

A teacher Rachel Duarte Abdala, program coordinator, the teachers Júlio Cesar Voltolini, André Luiz da Silva e Elisa Maria Andrade Brisola, together with the students Rafael Nathan Humel Capucho, Gabriel Fujarra Magalhães Capello e William Joseph Gomes de Oliveira, presented their research at the symposium. All members of the delegation participated as authors or co-authors of work, reinforcing the scientific production of the PPGDH and the dissemination of research from the University of Taubaté in one of the most important discussion forums on science, technology and society in the country.

PPGDH's participation reinforces the program's commitment to the production of critical and interdisciplinary knowledge, focused on human challenges, social and environmental issues of the present and future. This participation was also configured as an activity of REI-DES-Interdisciplinary network of studies on development and knowledge.
