The collection of the Museu Paulista de Antiguidades Mecânicas Roberto Lee de Caçapava is the subject of a research initiation project funded by Unitau (University of Taubaté), with a focus on the Smart Cities perspective, theme defined as one of the priorities by CNPq for research in Brazil.
The project is being developed by a student from Caçapava, student of the undergraduate course of History at Unitau, Natalia dos Santos, under the guidance of Prof.. Drag. Rachel Duarte Abdala, coordinator of the Master's program in Human Development and professor of the History course, both from Unitau.
According to the student, “the research proposes to study the possibility of the Roberto Lee Museum becoming a vector for the implementation of projects in the socio-economic perspective with the production of renewable technologies in the municipality of Caçapava, in the dimension of Smart Cities”.
The intention, she says, is to address the “question of how the museum’s collection can contribute to a future smart city”. And still work on the articulation of this collection with the notion of urban mobility in the city of Caçapava”.
To Professor Rachel Abdala, considered a reference in the area of historical research and museums in the region, explains that the purpose of the research is to contribute and provide subsidies for the development and implementation of public policies in the context of urban mobility. “The objective is to understand how the museum can contribute to rethinking urban mobility in the city and apply this in the life of the community”, she says. And still contribute to thinking about the museum from the perspective of strengthening local tourism.
One of the objects of study in the museum's collection is the Tucker Torpedo, year 1948, considered a rarity and one of the highlights of the collection.
