Technical visit and lecture by Djalma Thürler (UFBA/CAPES) to PPGDH-UNITAU

In the days 17 e 18 November 2025, the Postgraduate Program in Human Development-PPGDH at the University of Taubaté received Prof.. Dr. Djalma Thürler, interdisciplinary researcher and current Chamber Coordinator 2 – Social, Cultures and Humanities – from the Interdisciplinary Area of ​​Capes and professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA).

The program started on the day 17 November with the reception to Prof.. Djalma Thürler for the PPGDH Coordination and teachers.

In day 18 from November, no morning period, a working meeting was held with Profa. Drag. Monica Franchi Carniello, Vice-Rector of Research and Postgraduate Studies at UNITAU, teachers Rachel Duarte Abdala, general coordinator of PPGDH, and André Luiz da Silva, deputy coordinator of PPGDH. The meeting was held in the rectory and was preceded by the presentation to Prof.. Djalma Thürler of the Postgraduate facilities in the building on Rua Expedicionário Ernesto Pereira by the PPGDH Coordinator.

In the afternoon, a working meeting was held with the PPGDH faculty with the participation of the student representative, master's student Gabriel Fujarra Capello Magalhães and Administrative Assistant Mateus Silva. At the meeting, the PPGDH Coordinator, prof. Rachel Abdala, presented the characteristics of the Program and issues relating to the evaluation and ongoing restructuring of the Program's structure and subjects. A Prof. Djalma Thürler presented guidelines and aspects related to the Capes evaluation. The teachers asked questions and it was a fruitful afternoon of work.

At night, o Prof. Djalma Thürler, gave the lecture entitled: “Narrate what was left out: colonial memory, “LGBT+ queeradoria and dinners”. The audience was made up of teachers, PPGDH students and graduates, by undergraduate students, interested in the topic and joining the PPGDH. Students from other postgraduate programs at the institution also participated.
