Project title

Local knowledge and cultural mediation: symbolic action, identity and memory

goals

Investigate how the projects and processes of social knowledge and recognition are transforming the cultural mediation evidenced by the action strategies of popular actors in the Vale do Paraíba-SP region, in order to discuss three goals
specific:
1. Identify local knowledge (local knowledge) that involves everyday reality, and training processes (formal and informal), given the contexts in which the subjects work.
2. To analyze the relationships between the transformation of the dynamics of social actors' performance, of groups and everyday events of the Paraíba Valley region-SP.
3. To analyze the symbolic dimensions of human development and the agencies and possibilities experienced by individuals and groups throughout their existence in the most different spheres, as professional, training, daily, religious, politics,
economic, institutional and leisure.

theoretical Foundations

To research what are the implications of contemporary forms of knowledge and recognition in the negotiation of differences, from the point of view of the subjects themselves, and what happens to the mediation processes anchored by
reconfiguration of the symbolic dimension of everyday life, studies of an interdisciplinary nature are based on dialogue with the sociological approach on public policy issues in the sociocultural sector and their relationship with training
local actors; and in the socio-anthropological approach to phenomena related to the symbolic dimension of human development, such as identity productions, artistic and spiritual needs of individuals and social groups.

Methodology

Research using qualitative approaches, with emphasis on the use of the comparative and qualitative approach of the symbolic action of the actors through field observation recorded in field notebooks. There will also be
exploratory interviews with the subjects, with previously established scripts for researchers to accommodate the motivations and interests of their informants in their work. Lastly, documentary research is important resource
for triangulation data and validation of the methodological.
