Public schools combat racism: Photography workshop as a tool for social representation

The Professor Cesídio Ambrogi State School, de Taubaté-SP performs activities to discuss racism in society and Professor Júlio Cesar Voltolini, of the Graduate Program in Human Development-UNITAU was invited to teach a photography workshop for black students at the school. The activity was organized by the school board and geography teacher Christian Leandro Machado. The students answered a self -esteem questionnaire before and after the activity and the results indicated that the workshop had a positive effect. The results were presented by the students at the International Congress of Science, Technology and Development of Unitau in October 2024, together with a photographic exhibition during the event.
